Dental Veneers in Gloucester

Dental veneers are a cosmetic solution in Gloucester for teeth that are damaged, misaligned or discoloured. At The Limes Dental Practice, we design custom porcelain or ceramic veneers that enhance smile aesthetics while preserving natural tooth structure — all in a fully private practice setting.

Treatment

Veneers are crafted from porcelain or ceramics and attach permanently to your teeth. They are a great cosmetic solution for patients seeking a straight, bright, aesthetic smile. If a patient's teeth are damaged, misaligned or discoloured, veneers can often be formed to address these problems. For less involved cases, composite bonding may be a more conservative alternative worth discussing with your dentist.

Process

In an initial consultation, the dentist will assess the patient's suitability for veneers. At this stage, if there are other dental issues present, such as decay or gum disease, it must be addressed before starting the veneers process. Once suitability is confirmed, an impression is taken, and the veneers are crafted.

Minimal and zero-preparation veneers

A layer of enamel may be removed in order to provide a base for the veneer to be adhered to. Increasingly we recommend "zero preparation" veneers, where no enamel is removed, or a hybrid approach where as little as possible enamel is removed. This process can be completed in as few as two appointments.

Aftercare

Porcelain and ceramic veneers are cared for much like natural teeth. To help them last:

  • Brush and floss as normal, and keep up with regular check-ups and hygiene visits
  • Avoid biting hard objects such as ice or fingernails, as this can chip or crack a veneer
  • If you grind your teeth, a night guard may be recommended to protect them

Veneers are a permanent, irreversible treatment. With correct care, they typically last 10 or more years but may need replacing after around 15 due to wear.

Please note: We are a fully private dental practice and do not offer NHS treatment.
